‘Vintage 1’ is the first in what I plan to be a series of prints based on gnarly old grape vines.

‘Halo’ is not deliberately exaggerated, it just shows the dramatic effect of foreshortening that you get when you sit very close to your subject.

‘Contre Jour’ was done just before the GOMA Matisse exhibition, and ‘Odalisque’ and ‘Odalisque 2’ just after.  Matisse influenced me into trying a less literal approach to white on black line carving.

‘Apsaras Dreaming’ combines a simple white on black figure with some motifs derived from the bas-relief friezes of Cambodian temples.
